Aeternam is a community for people who want to live a very long time. Futurist Ray Kurzweil believes that immortality is possible within our lifetimes. This community is all about long and healthy life. We share our own personal journeys into better health and longevity. We can share this adventure in a new way, a secure and distributed form known as a blockchain. This won't help us live longer but it will allow our thoughts, images and ideas to live forever in this distributed blockchain. To reward ourselves we will share a common currency known as Lux. Lux transactions will be stored in the secure Aeternam blockchain.
Protein plays a crucial role in almost all biological processes and amino acids are the building blocks of it. A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids, meaning they carry out many important bodily functions, such as giving cells their structure. It is the perfect name for a currency that forms the foundation of the Aeternam community. Even though there is no physical currency, the coin design is taken from a Roman coin and emblazoned with the word Aeternam, and Semper Vitam, the company behind Aeternam. In the outer circle it says, "In hoc credimus nummus" meaning, I believe in this currency. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, Aeternam is backed by people, not dinosaur-eating and world polluting bit mining machines. Our community is about living longer lives and improving the world in which we live. That is the heart of this currency. People give it value.
